Challenge Be a Rescue Swimmer for a Day!
This program is designed as an opportunity for participants to play
an important role in the ongoing development of graduates from our
Helicopter Aircrew Officer programs. As part of post-course
work experience, aircrew graduates are required to conduct further
rescue training in a more realistic environment whilst managing
risk. Under the direct supervision of our rescue aircrew instructors
at all times, you will undertake basic rescue swimmer awareness
training involving safety and rescue technique training on the
helicopter and equipment. After successfully completing your
induction training you will kit-up and attend the briefing room
for your simulated "rescue mission".
You will then be transferred to the drop zone by rescue support
vessel where you will be a part of the rescue support team,
assisting in the aircrew training session. The activities you will
undertake includes a winch recovery from the water to the
helicopter, and once completed, you will be returned for your
boat journey home.
This program is a worldwide recognised & certified course
delivered in a rescue "mission" role play to enable aircrew
graduates a realistic experience in coordinating an aquatic
rescue and enables participants an insight and awareness into
what Helicopter Rescue & Para-Rescue Swimmers do as part
of their everyday lives. The nature of their work also happens to
be an awesome adrenalin pumping experience you will never
forget!
